Actress Divya Spandana joins Congress party

Film personalities venturing to politics is no new news. Right From MGR, Karunanidhi, Jayalalithaa till Vijay, almost all the actors and actresses have chosen to try their luck in politics. 

Joining the bandwagon is actress Divya Spandhana. Grand daughter of Union Minister S M Krishna, Divya Spandhana is a name to reckon with in Kannada and Tamil film industry. She has now joined Congress.

The actress wrote on a social networking website, 'I became a member of the Congress party, do you want to as well. ''Right now I don't have any intention to enter active politics. I have joined the Youth Congress because it is the party of youth,' Divya Spandhana said.

'I thought there was no point in cribbing about corruption and other issues. If a person like Anna Hazare at the age of 78 years can fight against corruption, we the youth should be in the forefront. I thought the best way was to join politics.'

Divya Spandhana had acted in many Tamil films including Varanam Ayiram and is eagerly awaiting the release of Kadhal 2 Kalyanam
