Director Balaji Sakthivel set the screen on fire with Kadhal. The former associate of director Shankar dealt about romance between a poor mechanic and a rich affluent girl in an engrossing manner touching the intricacies of caste between their romance.
Though his next Kallori, based on a real-life incident, could not recreate the same magic, Balaji Sakthivel is hoping to turn things around with his next Vazhakku En 18/9.
He steps into his familiar territory again. That is romance. 'Vazhakku En 18/9 is an out-and-out love story. It deals with how the concept of love has changed today, beginning with the so-called 'boyfriend-girlfriend' culture'
Director Lingusamy's Thirupathy Brothers is producing the movie. Another major highlight is that a major portion of the movie is shot by cinematographer Vijay Milton using a new model still camera.
The movie has newcomers in the lead and Balaji Sakthivel has completed shooting a major portion of the movie. Music is by Joshua Sridhar.
