Abhay Deol is set to join a special club – actors who have sung a track for their films. In Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Abhay has joined his co-stars Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar to croon a foot-tapping number, Senorita.
Interestingly, the Deol boy wasn’t nervous, saying, “I was taken aback when Zoya asked me to sing. She was keen that all three of us use our natural voices. In jest, I agreed to it. But I think that’s the spirit of the film.”
Farhan is not new to singing (he sang most of the songs in his debut flick, Rock On!), and Hrithik too has done his share of singing in Kites and Guzaarish. But for Abhay, it was a new experience going behind the microphone. He says he was so confident that he didn’t even practice for it. “I got the lyrics and started singing almost immediately. And it has turned out quite nice, I believe,” boasts the Dev D actor.
Titled Senorita, the song takes place over a fun evening on a road trip undertaken by three friends (played by Hrithik, Abhay and Farhan). Besides singing, the three actors will also be indulging in authentic tap dancing. “The song is about being yourself and having fun. All three of them singing has added to the song. I call it a triple whammy,” says producer Ritesh Sidhwani.
