Music launch of Padaro Mhare Dess

One of the leading and visionary vocalists of Rajasthan, Manesha A Agarwal, has set out on a noble mission to strive and restore the glory of Rajasthani Folk and to bring them back to the world they truly belong to – the world of music. Her new album Padaro Mhare Dess is exactly her way of realizing this mission.


Joining her on this extraordinary journey are twelve musical geniuses and sons of the soil, namely the Ghazal maestro Padma Bhushan Jagjit Singh, the Sarangi sensation and vocalist Padma Bhushan Ustad Sultan Khan, the Grammy awardee Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, renowned playback singer Roop Kumar Rathod, the ghazal duo Ahmed Hussain & Mohammed Hussain, along with Ravi Pawar, Salil Bhatt, Mohd.Vakil and the famed Kalbeliya artist Gulabo, along with Anwar khan and Gazi khan, each one of whom has a Rajasthani origin.

On April 30, 2011, Rajasthan Diwas, all the above legends of Rajasthan dedicated the title song 'Padaro Mhare Dess' to the state government as the “Song of Rajasthan”. Hon’able Chief Minister of the State Shri Ashok Gehlot officially released the album in a star-studded event attended by the who’s who of Jaipur.

This song has been composed with fresh musical innovations and inputs. It encapsulates the spirit of Rajasthan, its inheritances, royal history, cultural traditions, legendary folk magic, the soulful symphonies all harmonizing together with a new presentation.

The proceeds from the sale and concerts of this album will be used for the welfare of folk musicians of Rajasthan through Arpan Foundation Trust.
