Shane Warne to retire: Liz Hurley

Looks like Shane Warne’s association with IPL and Shilpa Shetty’s team Rajasthan Royals will come to an end this year.

Before coming to India to be with her beau, Elizabeth Hurley said this in an interview to a news daily in UK that Shane is playing for the last time.


A source from the Rajasthan team confirmed to a tabloid that Shane wasn’t even supposed to play this time, but he only did so to help the team that he has captained for the last three years. He thoroughly enjoyed his stint as the captain and coach and even won an IPL trophy for them. Shilpa’s team was with less funds as per the BCCI diktat and so cost cuts were a must this year. So the team couldn’t spend much on getting the big stars from international cricket. Looking at all this, he decided to push himself for one more year and stabilise things for the Royals. The Kundras are indebted to him. But this will be his last year at IPL. He might be the coach in the next season, but he will not play anymore.

To express their gratitude to Shane, the team owners are planning a bash in his honour post the season.
