With an award-winning debut film behind her, Sonakshi Sinha is looking forward to reprising her role as Chulbul Pandey’s Rajjo in the Dabangg sequel, which will be directed by Arbaaz Khan.
“It was my first film, Abhinav’s (Kashyap) first directorial and Arbaaz’s first production. We didn’t expect it to snowball into something this big. It came as a pleasant shock,” says the 21-year-old actor, adding, “The sequel’s script is being worked on right now; we start shooting early next year.”
But no win is complete without a celebration with mentor and co-star Salman Khan, which she implied is on the cards. “Everyone has been busy, maybe soon.”
But Sonakshi refused point blank to comment on the rumoured growing rivalry between Salman’s former girlfriend, Katrina Kaif, and her, leaving ample scope for speculation. Meanwhile, the actor, who is currently shooting for Shirish Kunder’s Joker with Akshay Kumar, is mourning the loss of a pair of solitaires reportedly worth Rs 25 lakh. Though she didn’t seem as worried about the material cost, it was the emotional attachment that she is sad about. “Those were the first pair of solitaires gifted to me by my mother,” says Sonakshi, who was recently made the brand ambassador for D’damas.http://www.hindustantimes.com/images/HTEditImages/Images/sonakshi2.jpg
The actor has a busy year ahead with and will soon commence shooting for her Tamil film with Kamal Haasan, following which she has Race 2, Kick and of course, Joker, to look forward to.
Still adamant about her ‘no exposing’ rule in Bollywood, Sonakshi is confident that she won’t ever need to make compromises on that front. “What I said may have been misinterpreted. I am very much willing to experiment with my looks, but I am not willing to expose. The ‘ex’ bit was accurate,” she retorts, adding, “I place my cards in front of the producers, and if they do not agree,
they would go to someone else. And as far as I can see, that has not happened. So I don’t know why my principals and morals should be questioned.”
