Seventeen years ago, on May 22, 1994, actor Sushmita Sen, brought home the Miss Universe crown for the first time. She was 18 years old, and the then Miss India had beaten popular model Aishwarya Rai to win the coveted title.
The actor-producer writes on Twitter, "For me, it will always remain a privilege and an honour to have brought India it's first ever Miss Universe victory! Proud to be an Indian."
She also thanked her fans who remembered the day and wished her: "Thank u so much my darling friends for remembering the lanky tall girl 17 years later. I too celebrate this day with you in honour of our country!"
