Emraan Hashmi interview

Emraan Hashmi became a father in February this year. The versatile actor with a bad-boy image says that contrary to popular perception, fatherhood has not changed him. Here he talks about the apple of his eyes, Ayaan, and joys of fatherhood...

Meet the proud daddy"Ever since I have become a father, I have been shuffling time between my family, my son, and the film sets. It is tough but I have to do it," he states, adding, "I have become more disciplined but I have not matured and not changed as such."

Regarding daddy duties, he says, "I tried changing diapers but I was bad at it. So I let my wife (Parveen) do it. I tried feeding Ayaan and making him burp but my wife is better at it so she does it."

Spending time with familyAbout the time he spends with his infant son, he says, "I meet my son every night before he sleeps so that he does not call me 'Uncle' later on. Sometimes he does not recognize me when I return from a foreign schedule or promotional trip."

Emraan wants to change his 'serial kisser' image for his son. "I had asked the kissing scenes in Crook to be trimmed but Bhatt saab wanted it the way he wanted it. Anyway, it is only for the screen. If the film and role demand it, I cannot be unprofessional. I have discussions with the writers because they know what is best," he explains.

Different experienceEmraan has taken a detour from his serious and gray image by acting in Madhur Bhandarkar's comedy, Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji. "Comedy is a different experience. I have done what I had to do. Everything ultimately depends on how audiences will reacts to a film. This film is a slice-of-life comedy. I have not seen too many Hindi comedies lately but I like the comedy of Peter Sellers and Ben Stiller," says Emraan.
