The charming singer-cum-anchor, Aditya Narayan will host the world’s biggest singing talent shows- X Factor. It is the Indian version of the blockbuster international format X Factor, developed by Simon Cowell, and a worldwide phenomenon. This internationally popular entertainment series has started the talent hunt with massive auditions being held across the country.
Looking forward to travelling the length and breadth of the country for the auditions, Aditya Narayan talks about his comeback to hosting and television.
You are back to hosting a television show. Do you feel a déjà vu?
Well, it feels great to be back and I am glad to be doing X factor. I feel jeena yahaan marna yahaan so I can never go away from television or hosting. My fame and name has been via anchoring shows. Though there was a hiatus for two years, I hope the audiences love watching me back on TV.
What can we expect from you as a host in X-Factor?
Something different, smashing and mind blowing, for sure! Every show has their own standard and it varies from other shows. Having said that, I am the same Aditya Narayan, you saw in Sa Re Ga Ma. I will be very informal and friendly with the contestants as I am in real life. For me, every contestant on the show will be special, as anyone who clears the auditions has to have some X Factor in them.
Acting or hosting - Which one do you enjoy the most?
For me both are challenging. Acting and singing are very close to my heart because as an actor I enjoy performing and emoting. While hosting and singing, I derive satisfaction from them both.
How do you think X factor will make a mark in the minds of the audiences?
I am extremely delighted to be a part of the biggest singing reality show on Indian television. X Factor refers to the indefinable something that makes for star quality, so if you have it in you, come and show your talent. We are the 21st country launching this iconic show and contestants here won’t have an age bar. Also, we have different genres of singing like ghazal, devotional, etc. So this show will provide unlimited entertainment to the audiences.
Will you have a special look in the show?
My look in the show will be contemporary and I have a stylist helping me with it. Also, I will be wearing oodles of charm!!
Who is your favourite singer?
There are many singers I like but I love Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Niigaam, Sukhwinder Singh and Shreya Ghoshal because they are sensational.
What is your take on Sonu Niigaam as judge?
He is very humble and like an older brother to me. He has immense experience judging reality shows and I think he is the perfect candidate to judge X-factor. I feel the contestants will come out as better singers and performers after their interaction with him on X-Factor.
What are your future projects apart from this show?
I am happy the way my career has shaped up. Right now, I am just concentrating on this show and my singing but there would be an acting project starting next year.
